Validation of Quarterly Report for Lot 2 under the OMIS Project in Huye District
On 31 March 2026, stakeholders (Farmers and RAB) gathered at the RAB Rubona Station Office in Huye District for a validation meeting of the Quarterly Report for Lot 2 under the #OMISProject, an initiative funded by the Rwanda Agriculture Board and Animal Resources (RAB).
The workshop brought together farmers and key representatives from four districts, Huye, Nyanza, Gisagara, and Nyaruguru, who collectively reviewed, validated, and officially approved the report. he assignment is focused on delivering daily proximity coaching services to farmers, as well as supporting Irrigation Water Users’ Organizations operating within irrigation schemes across the targeted districts. This work is aimed at strengthening sustainable water management systems and enhancing agricultural productivity at the farm level.
During the meeting, Mr. Richard Bucyana, CEO of HoReCo, highlighted the importance of strong collaboration among all stakeholders in achieving sustainable and impactful results in the agricultural sector. He encouraged farmers to continue working closely with field agronomists to ensure effective implementation of best practices and smooth knowledge transfer at the grassroots level.

In his closing remarks,He extended sincere appreciation to the Rwanda Agriculture And Animal resources Board (RAB) for its continued trust and support, which enables HoReCo to actively contribute to Rwanda’s agricultural transformation and rural development agenda.
The Operation and Management of Irrigation Schemes (OMIS) Project is an initiative of RAB implemented by the Horticulture in Reality Corporation (HoReCo). It aims to improve irrigation efficiency, enhance farm productivity, and strengthen farmer organizations to ensure long term sustainability and resilience in Rwanda’s agricultural sector. Currently we are implementing this project in Eastern , Kigali City , Northern and Southern Province.
