SNV Rwanda Delegation Visits YEA-R Project Sites in Karongi District
Today, HoReCo Rwanda welcomed a delegation from SNV Rwanda, led by Country Director Eleanor Hartzell, to the YEA-R Project sites in Karongi District. The visit underscored the strong partnership and shared commitment to expanding inclusive and sustainable economic opportunities for young women, men, and persons with disabilities in Rwanda’s horticulture sector.
The Youth Entrepreneurship in Agriculture – Rwanda (YEA-R) is a five-year program funded by the Mastercard Foundation, with an ambitious target of creating 40,000 dignified and fulfilling employment opportunities for young people in Rwanda’s agri-food sector by 2029.
The program is designed to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, with a special focus on empowering young women and young people with disabilities through opportunities in the horticulture and poultry value chains.
YEA-R is being implemented by a consortium of partners led by SNV Rwanda, including HoReCo Rwanda, Imbaraga, UWEZO, Kvinna till Kvinna, Our Sisters Opportunity, Resonate, and Afro Ark. Together, these organizations are driving innovation, entrepreneurship, and long-term resilience for Rwanda’s next generation of agricultural leaders.
