On February 24th, 2025, Hon. Minister of Agriculture, @cyubahirobagabe, conducted an official visit to the irrigation schemes managed by HoReCo in Musanze District, Northern Province. This visit served as a crucial milestone in evaluating the progress and impact of HoReCo’s agricultural interventions on local farming communities.
Accompanied by the Governor of the Northern Province, representatives from the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) and Rwanda National Police (RNP), local government officials, and HoReCo leadership, the visit underscored the successful cultivation efforts of Season A 2025. Dedicated farmers were also in attendance, showcasing their hard work and commitment to advancing Rwanda’s agricultural sector.
During the visit, Hon. Minister @cyubahirobagabe commended the farmers for their relentless efforts in ensuring food security and improving agricultural productivity. He emphasized the importance of adopting advanced farming techniques, including precision agriculture, efficient irrigation methods, and sustainable land management practices. The Minister further engaged with farmers, listening to their experiences and addressing their challenges while reinforcing the government’s commitment to supporting their growth.
This visit also provided an opportunity for stakeholders to assess the impact of HoReCo’s agricultural extension services, irrigation scheme management, and cooperative empowerment initiatives. The collaborative efforts between the government, HoReCo, and local farmers continue to drive sustainable farming practices, ensuring increased yields and enhanced livelihoods for farming communities.
